The organizers of the conference "Yemen 2010 from Threshold: Identity, Regionalism and Globalization" call to participation in this event
In the press conference held on January 26, 2009, the organizers of the international conference to be held in Sana'a in May under the title "Yemen 2010 from Threshold: Identity, Regionalism and Globalization" reviewed the significance of and the themes to be discussed in this event.
The speakers on behalf of the organizing entities (Sheba Center for Strategic Studies; Sana'a University; University of Exeter, UK) indicated that the conference was intended to highlight the historic achievements and to discuss the current as well as future threats facing Yemen's population, Government and other political, social, economic and religious actors. According to the organizers, this international conference to be held in Sana'a would be a "second station" after its prototype which was held in London last year, expecting it to prove success and come up with results that would help create a means of information and academic communication between Yemenis and British researchers.
The organizers called on all researchers to participate in the event by presenting their papers; such papers can be the outcome of a collective or individual work conducted by participants and academics, including the organizations of the civil society and private sector; the papers will be subject to the standards and criteria applicable to research works and will be peer-reviewed as well.
All the interested are requested to visit the conference website (WWW.YEMEN2010.COM) and to fill in the form concerning this international event (which will synchronize with the 20th Anniversary of Yemen's Unification).
